Hil Cat is a family-run farm dedicated to breeding the modern sporthorse. Our goal is to provide our clients – past and future – with suitable competition partners. Some will become life-long companions.
We use our own well-proven stallions and the highest quality approved broodmares. Factors considered in each breeding are temperament, type and movement. The result is an equine partner of superior quality that will reward its owner in both mind and spirit.
Hilda and Stig offer more than 40 years experience in the horse business - training, breeding and equine management. Stig started as a young jumper rider and then shifted his career to riding instruction and finally training and breeding Throughbreds. Hilda has run a small farm for years - managing the stock and following the horse show circuit with daughter, Catherine. Hilda and Stig invite you to visit Hil Cat – their home, their farm, their passion.
Catherine has come a long way from her first pony, Little Big Man, to her current Danish Warmblood jumper, The Ridler. Hil Cat's resident hunter/jumper rider, Catherine loves to compete and showcase the farm's young progeny.
Kathy Tubbs, more affectionately known as "Auntie Kathy" is responsible for management of all foals born at Hil Cat. From conception to foaling to sales, Kathy knows each baby and their unique personalities.
Sophia Wijnbergen is Hil Cat's resident dressage trainer. Riding since a very young child in Holland, Sophia instructs all young horses in basic dressage. Some continue to the upper levels. With a firm but gentle touch, Sophia gives each individual a foundation that will take them on to the chosen discipline.
